April 9th, 2017 – Day 2 in Taiwan.

Our first stop was the Chiang Kai-shek memorial gardens. This massive area includes the Gate of Great Centrality and Perfect Uprightness, National Theater, National Concert Hall of Taiwan, and lastly the Chiang Kai-shek memorial building.

Once we finished exploring, we set off to the Ximending shopping district to find bubble tea and fried chicken! Later in the afternoon we visited Taipei 101 and took the elevator to floor 89 which is the indoor observation level.  It was my second time there, but it was totally worth the wait to experience the view again. Taipei 101 is also an engineering marvel. There is an outdoor observation deck on the 93rd floor and the tremendous mass damper is visible between these floors.

We spent the evening at Longshan Temple and ate our way through the nearby night market. Finally we met up with Tina at the Little London pub near the Sun Yat-sen memorial hall and ended a very productive day!
